This variation of poker, based on Chinese domino game, is a delight!

At Rushmore Online Casino, players have the opportunity to check out a video game version of Pai Gow Poker, controlled by Realtime Gaming software. Developed from a popular game of dominoes in China, this game is a variation of poker that uses seven cards. The objective is to use those seven cards to make the best possible two poker hands: a five card-hand and a two-card hand.

Rushmore Casino Pai Gow Poker Rules & Game Play

The objective of Pai Gow Poker seems confusing at first, but becomes easier to understand with a little practice. The player first wagers a desired amount, within table limits, by clicking the appropriate chip values on the table’s edge. Then the player and dealer are each dealt seven cards.

Now the player must separate, or split, those seven cards into a five-card hand and a two-card hand, with the five-card hand maintaining the highest poker rank. The player does this by clicking on the two cards, which will be raised above the rest, that he or she wants to split from the other five and then clicking the Split button. After the hands have been split, they are compared to the two hands created by the dealer.

If both of the player’s hands have a higher poker hand ranking than the dealer’s, the player is paid even money minus a 5 percent commission. If only the player’s five-card hand beats the dealer’s five-card hand, the bet is a Push. The same applies if only the player’s two-card hand beats the dealer’s two-card hand. If both dealer hands beat the player’s hands, the bet is lost.
