To begin playing baccarat, players first select which type of bet they would like to make: Player, Banker or Tie. A Player bet is a wager that the Player hand scores closer to 9, while a Banker bet wagers on the Banker hand. A Tie bet is just that, a bet that the two hands will tie in points. Once players have selected the hand they wish to bet, they then decide the betting amount by clicking the appropriate chip buttons located along the table’s edge. Once players have chosen their desired bet, clicking the Deal button moves the game forward.
Two cards are dealt to each hand, and points are calculated, simple as that! If either hand forms a natural, that hand automatically wins unless both hands are naturals. In the case of two naturals, the highest point value wins. If both naturals are equal, Banker and Player bets Push and Tie bets win. The Player hand is resolved first, being given a third card if its point value is between 0 and 5. The Banker hand has a few more rules. If the Player hands has only 2 cards, the Banker will be dealt a third card only if its point value is between 0 and 5 and the Player has only two cards. Otherwise the Banker hand stands.
